Jikishin Jiu Jitsu New Zealand

We are doing traditional Jikishin Jiu Jitsu, as founded by Sensei Terry Parker, 10th Dan in 1982. The name Jikishin translates literally to “true spirit”, “pure heart” and “straight mind”. There is a well- known Zen saying, Jikishin kore dojo nari: A true spirit (pure heart) is a training place.

Our Jiu Jitsu syllabus is a combination of punches, blocks, kicks, locks, throws, hold downs, ground work, counters, nerve points, submissions, atemi points etc. We purely focus on self defence to give you the advantage in an unforeseen situation or life threatening situation.
